Urban
Urbanization is having a serious impact on biodiversity worldwide. However, urban ecosystems provides wide range of benefits to urban residents, who account for more than half of the world's population. Urban conservation is therefore crucial not only for living organisms, but also for people's livelihoods. For this reason, I conduct research on the transformation and conservation of urban ecosystems, with the aim of preventing biodiversity loss due to urbanization.

Semi-natural ecosystems
Satoyama is one of the semi-natural ecosystems in Japan, which has been maintained through many years of human interaction, is rapidly losing biodiversity due to abandonment caused by population decline and other factors. To address this problem, I conducted about the conservation of satoyama ecosystems.
